HDPE Pipe Supplier — Ghana Mining & Water
Primepoly is an established supplier of PE100-RC HDPE pipe to Ghana's gold-mining operators — slurry lines, dewatering, tailings transport and water-supply infrastructure on remote mine sites. Repeat-order customers include independent operators across the Ashanti, Western and Eastern regions.
Why Primepoly Co., Ltd. for Ghana
Ghana is Africa's largest gold producer and the world's #6 by tonnage. Gold mine slurry is highly abrasive (quartz-heavy ore body); legacy cast-iron and mild-steel pipe wears through every 18–36 months. PE100-RC's notch-resistant formulation triples service life. The Volta Region and Ashanti pivot agricultural schemes are increasingly using HDPE for irrigation trunk mains. Tema port has direct weekly liner services from Chinese east-coast ports.
Standards & compliance
- ISO 4427
- Default in mining engineering specifications
- GS / Ghana Standards Authority
- Imported pipe must show conformity to relevant Ghana standards (cross-references ISO 4427)
- WRAS / NSF 61
- Required by donor-funded water projects (World Bank, AfDB)
- AS/NZS 4130
- Frequently cited by Australian-listed mining operators in West Africa

2024: DN 450 PE100-RC SDR 11 tailings line, 4.2 km, Ashanti Region gold-mining operator. Replacing failing cast-iron pipe that was eating through every 18 months. Abrasion measurement two seasons in: 0.6 mm of wall loss — projecting 8+ year service life. Primepoly sent an engineer to supervise the first day of butt-fusion installation.
Ghana — Frequently asked questions
Q. Why PE100-RC instead of standard PE100 for mining slurry?
PE100-RC (Resistance to Crack) handles point loads, direct burial in coarse stone-aggregate backfill and continued service even with localised wall thinning. For abrasive slurry it adds about 30–50% to the effective service life compared to standard PE100, often justifying the small material-cost premium.
Q. Do you provide on-site fusion training for Ghana customers?
Yes — for orders ≥ USD 200K we send a Primepoly fusion engineer to site for 3–5 days to train the customer's installer crew on butt fusion and electrofusion procedures. Cost included in the project quotation.
Q. Can you supply Tema-bonded stock for project call-off?
Yes, for customers committing to ≥ 5 × 40HQ per year. We pre-position spec-defined inventory in a Tema bonded warehouse, releasing on call-off as the customer's site programme requires.
Q. How do you handle force majeure during the rainy season?
Schedule shipments to arrive Apr–Jun (dry season, easier road haulage to mine sites) or Sep–Nov. Major rainy season Jul–Aug delays inland trucking 5–10 days. We document this risk in delivery schedules and adjust ETA accordingly.
