Product Description
PVC-U Drainage Pipe is a non-pressure drainage pipe extruded from sanitary PVC compound for soil, waste, vent, storm and gravity sewers. It is light, easy to install, resists chemical attack from sewer gases and offers more than 50 years of low-maintenance service.
Advantages and Characteristics
1. Excellent chemical resistance to inorganic acids, alkalis and salts in domestic and industrial wastewater.
2. High surface hardness and impact strength for buried-pipe loading.
3. Service life over 50 years with stable creep and ageing performance.
4. Lightweight: 1/8 the weight of cast iron and 1/3 that of concrete.
5. Low installation cost: rubber-ring or solvent-weld socket joints, no welding equipment needed.
6. Smooth bore: low Manning coefficient, no scaling and constant capacity.
How It Compares
1. Material: PVC drainage uses polyvinyl chloride; HDPE drainage uses high-density polyethylene. Both are plastics with different chemistry.
2. Stiffness: PVC is more rigid; HDPE is more flexible and tolerates ground movement.
3. Temperature: PVC is for cold drainage; HDPE handles intermittent hot or cold service.
4. Cost: PVC is generally cheaper; HDPE costs more but lasts longer in dynamic conditions.
5. Joining: PVC uses rubber-ring or solvent welding; HDPE uses heat-fused joints.
6. Use: PVC dominates building drainage and gravity sewers; HDPE is preferred for pressurised and seismic-prone networks.

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for HDPE / PVC pipe?
Standard MOQ varies by product — generally 1 ton for HDPE pipe, 500 kg for PVC pipe, and one full container for export orders. Custom MOQ is available for sample / pilot projects — contact our sales team for confirmation.
What is the typical lead time?
For stocked sizes, 7–10 days from order confirmation; for custom OD / SDR / colour, 25–35 days. Production capacity exceeds 2,000 t/month — large project orders are scheduled in batches.
Which certifications does Primepoly hold?
ISO 9001, ISO 4427, AS/NZS 4130, ASTM F714, AWWA C906, WRAS and NSF 61. Documentation accompanies every shipment, and third-party inspection (SGS / BV) is welcome at the buyer's request.
Do you offer OEM and private-label manufacturing?
Yes — we manufacture pipes and fittings to customer-specified OD, SDR, length, colour, marking and packaging. MOQ for OEM orders typically starts at 5 tons or one full container.
How are pipes packaged for export shipping?
Pipes are bundled with PE film / steel strap and stowed by length: short pipes (≤6 m) ship in 20'/40' containers; long pipes (>12 m) ship by break-bulk vessel or flat rack. Coil rolls are shrink-wrapped and palletised. Free OBL with shipping documents.
