About Wei
Zhang Wei leads Primepoly's engineering and quality-assurance functions, supervising the design, materials testing and certification of every product the factory ships. He joined Primepoly in 2017 after eight years at a Borealis-resin compounding plant where he developed PE100-RC formulations for the European water-utility market.
His specialism is the engineering of long-service-life pipelines for harsh environments — mining slurry, marine aquaculture, and chlorinated potable water. He has personally signed off on more than 4,000 km of Primepoly PE100 / PE100-RC pipe currently in service across 40+ countries, and runs the company's WRAS / NSF 61 / ISO 4427 certification programs.
Outside Primepoly, Wei serves on the working group revising GB/T 13663 (the Chinese PE pipe national standard) and has authored 7 peer-reviewed papers on slow crack growth and rapid crack propagation in polyethylene pipe.
